More Information Available in Trading Partners and in Part Requests
|
Great news! We are adding more information to Trading Partners search results and to the Live Chat messages you receive in iCPM. You'll start seeing these changes soon! Read on to learn what we're adding.
Trading Partners Results
In your Trading Partners search results, you will soon begin seeing the Category of the part in the Description column. The Category is supplied by the seller's inventory management system.

Live Chat Messages in iCPM
On Car-Part Pro and Trading Partners search results, a Live Chat link is included with your contact information (if you subscribe to this service). When a customer clicks that link, they can begin a conversation with you about this part. The message is automatically populated with information about their search, and you receive these messages and requests in your own iCPM/Car-Part Messaging (both as private messages and as requests on the Sales tab).
In the illustrations below, we've highlighted the NEW additional information that you will soon begin seeing in your messages and Sales tab: search source, part stock number, price, grade, description, and category.
|
- Search Source: The message now specifies where the customer found this part: Trading Partners or Car-Part Pro.
- Stock Number: The stock number of the specific part they are considering. (Remember, if you see a stock number that starts with "e" that means it's a brokered part.)
- Price: The price of the part that the buyer saw in their search results. If you and the customer have different currencies (for example, if you are in the United States and the customer is in Canada), both currencies will be listed.
- Grade: The part grade.
- Description: The part description displayed in the customer's search results.
- Category: The part's category in your inventory management system (Yard, Unbolted, or Warehouse).
With this additional information, it will be easier to identify the exact part that your customer is considering on their search results.
Note: Some users recently reported that when they clicked iCPM links in Trading Partners search results, the message that auto-populates would periodically include an incorrect part name. That problem is also being fixed during these enhancement updates.
If you have any questions about the enhancements listed here, or if you don't have Trading Partners and would like to learn more, please get in touch! Contact your support rep directly, or call our main office at 859-344-1925 and ask to speak to Web Support. We look forward to talking with you!

"People ask me all the time (one guy actually stopped me at a gas station when he saw me in my Car-Part shirt): 'why do some recyclers not list prices on Car-Part.com?' All those parts that say '$Call' for a price, people skip right over those in favor of the parts with prices."
